Steve and the team at C.A.R.S. were pleased to have their work commended yet again by the Auckland Mustang Owner's Club at their 2011 annual car show.  A 1965 Hi-Po 289 K-code Mustang GT owned by Steve's brother and sister-in-law, Doug & Debbie Sankey, was awarded 2nd place in the GT division and also was awarded Best Panel & Paint overall.  The car was another full back to bare steel rotisserie restoration job.  A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the rebuild of this beautiful pony and Steve and the guys at C.A.R.S., Steve Jamieson and Nic Clyde, were rapt with the final result and also with these awards.  Call in at our new workshop - Unit 1 - 197C Manukau Road in Pukekohe to see the awesome trophies now displayed in our new reception area!

Following on from the pleasing results of the 2010 Mustang Convention, the green beast (a 1973 lime green 1973 Mach 1 mustang owned by Rex and Karen from Northland and fully restored by the team @ C.A.R.S. in Pukekohe) was invited along with three other Mustangs to attend the 2011 Concours de Elegance held at Ellerslie on February 13th and 14th this year.  Four Mustangs, grouped into two teams of two cars each team, were entered by the Auckland Mustang Owners Car Club.  The green beast was teamed up with a 1970 Convertible owned by Douglas and entered as team two and a Mach 1 owned by Will and 1966 GT owned by Ian were entered as team one all under the AMOC banner.  Both teams took away top points at the meet with team one totalling 1,017 and team two of the green beast fame totalling 1,033 out of a total possible points score of 1,180 so not a bad effort on the part of both muzzy teams.  In third place was the Porsche Car Club with 998 points and a 1963 Porsche 356C took out the Masters Class with a total of 547 points out of a possible points score of 590.

A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into restoration of these cars and we in particular would like to congratulate the team at C.A.R.S. for their amazing effort - Steve Jamieson and Nic Clyde.  Also special thanks to Rex and Karen for going to the trouble of actually entering their car in these competitions and to the AMOC yet again for their support and hard work whilst representing the AMOC during these events.

So another great moment for everyone including the team at C.A.R.S. - congratulations all round!

Don't forget if you have a classic car, whether it be a Mustang, Porsche, Vet or Mini Cooper the team @ C.A.R.S. Pukekohe can take care of your every need - let big Steve, little Steve and our Nic take the hassle out of your project and present you with a winning car.

The Green BeastCONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER!!

Two clients from C.A.R.S. entered their vehicles into the 31st New Zealand Mustang Convention held labour weekend at the Telstra Clear Events Centre in Manukau.  Rex with his Lime Green 1972 Mach 1 and Todd with his Blue 1967 Hardtop.  Both Mustangs came 2nd in their respective classes and then Rex's green beast took away the award for BEST PANEL & PAINT - what an awesome result.  A great night was held by all attending the prize giving.  Congrats to Steve Sankey and his team at C.A.R.S. - Steve Jamieson and Nic Clyde - and also to Dennis Syverston the local painter.

The convention was huge and turnout was impressive.  The outside events for all those attending were well organised and the hard work put in by the AMOC convention team leading up to that weekend was apparent - well done to you all and thank you very very much for the opportunity to display at your show.

Anyone who missed the show must really try to get there next year - the displays, stalls and activities running throughout the day will satisfy most family members interests!!  There is something for everyone.

Thank you everyone for your continued support ... keep bringing in those classics!!!!
